Parenting 101 Overcoming

Overcoming challenges

Proverbs 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Here I want to go over ways to teach your child. Also, I have a special few thoughts on facing challenges. What does teaching our children have to do with facing challenges? Well, we must teach our children how to overcome and we do that by learning for ourselves ways to face everyday issues.

First, let us start with the basics of teaching:

1. Read God’s Word

2. Write God’s Word

3. Speak God’s Word

– Read, Write, Speak this brings us closer to God through his word and develops our relationship with him.

When you are wanting to teach your children how to live in a moral way that will bless them now and always it is good to know God’s word for yourself. You are to set the example for your children. So if you see behavior in your life you don’t desire for your children then you start with you. Strive to set the example for your children to pattern themselves after. Also, know who is in your child’s life. Know what example they are setting for your child. Be involved in your children’s lives.

Here is My Mom’s Action Plan:

1. Pray

2. Pray with child or children

3. Talk about it

4. Listen to what they have to say about it.

5. Get involved.

6. Just be there!

7. Listen

Now, this won’t fix everything but it is a place to start! Remember you do not have to face things alone. There are doctors and pastors to help us. God provides help for us we just have to reach out for it. We do not face life alone when we accept Jesus. He goes with us! So if it is a challenge like a learning issue or a behavior we want to change he is with us helping us! We are not parenting alone but with the help of God! I would encourage every parent to take advantage of having a pastor. It is good to talk to other Christians and to have others pray for us. Make a plan of action and get help with it depending on what it is you are facing as a family with your doctor, pastor or any person who would be helpful. There is so much  I could say on this but I think the idea you should leave this lesson with is that you should set the example for your children and to do so it is good to have help from your church family and others too!
